MEXICO::SAILING IN THE SUN

I'm glad we did all the exciting stuff at the beginning of our trip because we were somewhat exhausted when day 7 arrived. We decided to just rent a catamaran and set sail into the sun. Just the family, the ocean and.... the little Man steering the boat. It was a nice last day.

And that was our family trip to Puerto Vallarta, 2014. As you can see, we had an absolute blast!

I especially miss the mind boggling Mexican mazes at dinner time. We're still trying to solve this one. 

MEXICO::I LIKE POOLS BECAUSE THERE'S NO SAND

Remember that one time when we went to Mexico? Seems like forever ago yet I'm STILL talking about it! Almost done I promise.

Alex has been our most cautious child by far. And Tyler and I don't do well with wussy kids. We just don't have a lot of fears ourselves so we expect our kids to be the same I guess. And I'm sure they will eventually. So as our cautious child, Alex didn't love water until probably 4 years old? I remember when he was first starting to dabble with the idea of swimming and he would put his face in the water, thinking he was dunking his whole head, but really only getting maybe his eyes wet. He would be so proud of himself. And of course he was supported with a life jacket at all times. 

Well little wussy boy got some courage somewhere and was determined to learn to swim without floaties while we were in Mexico. Which is a double edged sword for me because now I have to watch him like a hawk. But man when this boy gets something on his mind he is so good to keep trying until he gets it. And he got it! 

Tyler had meetings on and off the last couple of days of our trip. So this night we decided to just meet him downtown at Pipi's. I was seriously a little nervous. I've seen those Datelines on human trafficking. I've seen Taken. I guess nobody wanted a rundown mama and her 4 brat kids. We got to the restaurant just fine. Oh how I miss that food....
