MEXICO::WHALE WATCHING

I LOVE whale watching.

You sit and wait in the middle of the ocean. All the sudden a blow of water will startle you. The boat turns and starts to follow the blows. That's when you see the giant hump. Whales are e-nor-mous! They continue to go up and down usually in groups with other family members. Then my favorite part, the absolutely amazing tail makes it's appearance and the giant whale goes down, deep. And about 10 minutes later it all starts over again. I seriously could do it all day.

This tour had a marine biologist on board. It was nice because she was so knowledgable and we learned a lot (like how whales evolved from the wolf. Um.... I don't know about that one miss smarty pants). At the beginning of the tour she of course mentioned that whale watching is luck. Some tours are amazing. Most are just normal. I looked at Tyler and said "Ours will be amazing". Just like last time. And was it ever!

We went pretty far out into the ocean and it wasn't too long before we spotted some blows of water.

Our kids were the only kids on our tour so they always had front row seating. People are so nice.

We finished following these couple of whales when all of the sudden about 50 or so dolphins came swimming around our boat. Now that was awesome! They were spinner dolphins which meant when they jumped out of the water they would spin in the air. It was so cool. They loved the boat. They would swim super fast beside us then dart under the boat and then jump out of the water on the other side. There were so many of them we didn't know which way to look! And they showed off for us for probably about 20 minutes. When I told Tyler we would have a great tour, I had no idea it was going to be that great!

When we started to head back to the dock we spotted more whales.  These guys were showoffs too. And the water was calm because we were in the bay so the pictures turned out great.

It was hard to snap a picture but the biologist spotted a sea turtle for the kids.
I don't know how we are ever going to top that experience. We had such a great day.
Oh and of course we found a couple of these guys at the dock. The kids were in crazy animal heaven.

MEXICO::BOOBS & TREASURE HUNTS

I knew we had to spend one of our days on the pirate ship. We did the evening pirate ship excursion when we took the kids to Cabo a few years ago so this time we wanted to do the day excursion. The day one was much more fun!

As soon as we got on the ship we were appointed a personal pirate. Mind you all the pirates on the ship were men. Except ours. Meet Gypsi our pirate.

We spent the next 6 hours with cleave I mean Gypsi.

Cleave LOVED taking pictures of us.

 It was a serious blast on that boat. We have awesome video of Olivia feeding me baby food blind folded and also some pretty sweet dance moves from Tyler. I highly recommend Pirate Ships.
