We just finished up another great Spring season at the ball fields!
We made an executive decision for Tyler not to coach this year. It was a hard decision. But with Tyler's new calling as Bishop, me pregnant/birthing triplets and Alex also starting baseball, we felt like too much was already on our plates. Well we've already decided Tyler will definitely be coaching next year. I think it was harder on him not to coach. You can only imagine him behind the scenes pacing back & forth and always, I mean always, putting his two sense in. And then I would glance over and there he would be in the dug-out setting up the line-up or on the 3rd base line giving direction. Some how he still coached most of the season. He's one of those Dads.
THE BREWERS::DREW::PEE WEE 7
Drew did fantastic this year. I guess when they turn 7, that's when it gets super fun. I always looked forward to his games. 7 year olds finally get the game and it amazes me how well they do. This year it was machine pitch for 2 innings then kid pitch for 3 innings. Drew almost always played in the pitcher position (when the machine was out). He was awesome in the position. He's quick and he knows exactly where he needs to throw to get an out. He also pitched for his first time and caught a few times. He's also a very consistent hitter. He's not a power hitter but always hits just enough to get to first. A week ago they had their hit-a-thon fundraiser. They are given 19 pitches. Drew hit 17.
The EXPRESS::ALEX::TEE BALL
We didn't feel like Alex was ready for baseball last year. He's not as focused as Drew was. So we finally let him try tee ball this year. He did really well. Sure I have a lot of pictures of him just sitting on the grass but that's how all the 4 year olds were. All they cared about was the treat ticket at the end. Luckily his games were only 2 innings. The longest 2 innings of my life I might add. The boys were pitched 4 balls from the coach and if they don't hit those then the tee comes out. Alex only hit one coach pitched ball the entire season but we were sure excited for that one hit! He really doesn't even swing the bat right, poor kid has been neglected because the attention is spent on Drew. But I did manage to get some pictures of his pretty face so all and all it was a great first season for Alex.
