Quick Alex Update

Baby is doing great. You know how you just want to eat their face off, that's how I feel when I look at him. Anyways, at his two week appointment I was faced with some different situations. First of all he weighed in at 9lbs! So he gained more than a pound and a half since leaving the hospital. I didn't realized my milk was like butter milk. My other two kids were such spitters that they didn't gain weight super quick in the beginning. Then the doctor saw that he was tongue tied. We all realized that in the hospital. What is tongue tied? I don't know but that thing under his tongue went all the way to the end of his tongue. So he couldn't stick out his tongue very far and the skin would pull back his tongue so it looked like a snake. Weird. It obviously wasn't affecting his eating habits. I guess it's really common but I have never heard of it. It wasn't that bad the Dr. said but he does leak milk sometimes when he drinks so he went ahead and cut it. Painful? Actually no, he didn't even cry. Second weird thing was he was born with a skin tag on his nipple. Again, why? Who knows. So the Dr tied a piece of suture around it and it's suppose to just fall off. It hasn't yet. Third weird thing about this kid is I noticed he has so many soft spots on his head. The Dr felt all of them and said everything was normal but he does have bigger gaps so we just have to be careful on rotating him when he sleeps so he doesn't get a flat head. Interesting. Well that's about all the excitement that's been going around here. I am glad Alex only has minor weird things wrong with him. He still the cutest kid ever.

Oprah!!!

I just wanted everyone to know that my sister-in-law Stephanie will be on Oprah on Monday. She was surprised with a bedroom make-over on Sept. 9th (the day I had Alex) because she has 5 boys 4 years old and under. We saw a preview today and it's going to be hilarious. So you better watch.

Baby Update

So Alex is doing great. Eating well, on boob and bottle, pooping way too good, and sleeping well. The first couple of nights home he was getting up like every hour. I was like oh heck no, Olivia and Drew were great sleepers from the beginning. So I decided to try to give him formula and a little boob (to un-engorge me). Now he only gets up twice. What a life saver. Last night was his first stretch of 4 hours straight! Also I had to take him in to get his biliruben checked and he doing good with that and he actually weighed 7lbs 14oz. That's great considering he left the hospital at 7lbs 5oz four days earlier. I know you just want your baby back to birth weight by the 2 week appointment so we're doing awesome there. Oh and his belly button scabby thing fell off two days ago too. Isn't that just exciting, now we are just waiting on the wiener cap to fall off. All of you with only girls will not understand. Drew and Olivia are doing good too. Olivia seems like she's 14 so I guess that's good and Drew has the biggest butt ever, it's crazy to change a big butt and a little tiny butt. Drew has definitely surprised me because he has not shown any type of jealousy. I think it's easier because he has Olivia. So they just play all day and they have each other so they don't have to feel like I am totally neglecting them. Anyways we are all doing good and enjoying this tiny baby. I will have Alex's newborn pictures taken in the next couple of days so check back to see those.

It's a BOY! (I was right!)

Well I have fallen madly in love once again. Our little Alexander was born Tuesday, September 9th at 12:40am. He weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 20.5 inches. My babies keep getting smaller and cuter. The delivery went as smooth as a delivery could go and Alex and I are doing sooo good. My friend Michelle was there to capture the moment so early in the morning and the pictures are definitely priceless. Thank you so much Michelle, you are amazing!

Flashback Friday

The best part of having a new baby is the anticipation to see what the baby looks like. Now that I have a girl and a boy it will be interesting to see if this baby looks like Olivia or Drew or neither. Olivia is our Latin baby. Covered from head to toe with dark hair. She had dark hair on her ears for months. She was born with dark eyebrows and eyelashes and her hairline pretty much connected to her eyebrows. Then came the dark brown eyes and the dark skin. She was such a cute baby. Now Drew on the other hand came out with light brown hair, naturally forming in a Mohawk. No extra hair in weird places like the ears. You could barely see his eyelashes or eyebrows. Then he developed more fair skin and big blue eyes. And actually Drew was a prettier newborn to me. So seriously, it would be great if I could get a baby with red hair and green eyes. I can't wait to see what this baby looks like.....

Dr. Appointment update!

Today was my last OB appointment. Hooray!!! I am only a 1 1/2 and 60% effaced. So that pretty much guarantees me that I am not going to go this week on my own. So as planned Monday shall be the day!
