Our little tradition of course if for Tyler to read Twas the night before Christmas on Christmas Eve. The kids loved it, especially Olivia. Then we left cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. Then it was off to bed at about 8:00. I wasn't sure if Olivia would have a problem going to sleep because of the anticipation but she did. Which was good because Tyler waited till the last very minute to put together her doll house. My Grandparents and I stayed up with him for support and he didn't get done until 1:00. Then we went upstairs to bed and I could hear a flipping fire alarm beeping
somewhere, needing new batteries. Luckily it was in Olivia's room and not Drew's. So we had to change that whole thing. It was a pretty good night in the end. I just remember 2 years ago when my grandparents were here and Olivia (2 years) went upstairs and got into my Grandma's purse,
opened and ate a whole bunch of different pills. That Christmas Eve we spent in the ER until about 2:00am. So fun!
What a fun Christmas! Just wait until you have a four year old. This is the year where it was so real for Olivia and so "magical" for her. Drew was fun too but it just isn't as important to him just yet. It was weird trying to capture two kids with the video camera. Trying to see both of them open everything at once! It was so fun and I can't wait for next year.
