Christmas cards!

I love having a nice card for family and friends to see. And also having a little year’s re-cap on what we’ve been up to.

But more than that I love to get Christmas cards from everyone else and hanging them up to look at all month.

But let’s be honest it is so much work! Especially when we send out over 150 cards.

This is my project for this week among the million other things I need to do.

But it’s something I need to check off my list. I hope everyone else get’s theirs done soon too. I love to receive them in the mail!

It’s that time again. Call us crazy (and we are), but we are going to add a FOURTH to this family.

And we couldn’t be more excited!

Olivia turns Seven

November 18th 2003 this beautiful babe was born.

 

Birth story: I had my last OB appt. Monday, November 17th (2 days shy of my due date). My Mom and Grandma are already in town because I am going to convince my dr. to induce me. The dr. feels Olivia through my stomach and says she’s big. So let’s induce. Perfect! Tyler and I go home and pack then head to the Utah Valley Regional. At 10am they hook me all up with pitocin and we wait. And wait. And wait. I was only a 1 going in so it was slow. I got my epidural right before they break my water at 6pm. Things finally progress. Now I know we don’t need to wait all day to break my water. Probably around 11pm I am ready. Well the dr. wants the baby to “rest and descend”. Which means the dr. wants to sleep a little longer. So after an hour of resting and descending I’m ready to push this baby out. I push twice and the dr. decides there is no way I am going to do this by myself. So the forceps come out. So then the dr. delivered the baby. I didn’t do anything. I remember everyone gasping when her head and arm plopped out. Yelling “she’s so fat”! They didn’t put her immediately on my tummy for me to see. They took her to the warmer to suction. You could tell in her screams that she had fluid in her lungs. They paged the respiratory therapist to come help. They beat the poor child. Pounding on her back. Finally she’s good. They brought her to me and I fell in love. She was born in the early hours of Tuesday, November 18th. She weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 20 inches long. My favorite part was a few hours later when Tyler was done bathing her, he brought her back to me all bundled up with a mint green little bow glued to her head. I had been waiting for a little girl with a little bow my whole life. 

Fast forward a few years………………………………………And my baby girl is 7.

Liv has a major SWEET tooth! Always has. So what better birthday party for her than a “Sweet” party.

I love my label maker. Last year I ordered it off Amazon and gifted it to myself for Christmas. I think I may have even wrapped it and put it under the tree. To: Jamie. From: Jamie.

I have been labeling way before I got a label maker though. So if you don’t have one, you still can label.

This is before my professional label making days: Marker and a white sticky.

I had Tyler put up the Christmas lights outside last Saturday. Up here you have to do that early before it’s too cold. It helped so much to 1. actually find the right box and 2. know which stand of lights goes where, since our lights are cut to fit our house.

Your welcome Tyler. My gift to myself that he paid for made his life a little easier too. And if you don’t have one I think you should ask Santa for one this year.

Olivia and her cousin, Cody, are 6 days apart. So we went to dinner to celebrate. I can’t believe these two are SEVEN.

Spicy

You may not know this about me but I LOVE spicy foods. The spicier the better! I actually crave spice. I crave jalapeño peppers, horseradish sauce, hot sauce, black pepper, pepperoncini’s, wasabi, pepperjack. Tyler also loves hot foods, thank goodness. So of course our kids are following in our footsteps. Olivia especially (our Latina) loves spice. I think she puts more hot sauce on her food than I do. So today for a snack we had cracker’s, cheese and jalapeño peppers. The kids could not get enough. And it was ssspicey! Totally worth the heartburn I always get later. Tyler called while we were snacking and said his mouth was watering! So yum.
