Tyler + Jamie

Tyler and I have been married for TEN whole years this coming June. I can't believe it. So I wanted to reflect back this year on the good and the ugly. Every month I hope to share a new story about us.

The First Meeting:

After being inactive in the church my whole life, me and my bestie Kathryn decided we would join the singles ward after high school graduation. All our guy friends went to the ward too so might as well. The Bishop, Mr. Sonju, was our high school assistant principle. He told me I didn't live in the boundaries to go to this ward. I remember telling him "do you want me to go to church or not?" Doesn't that sound just like me!? So he agreed.
Mr. Sonju called me to be a family home evening mother of a group. So I had my first meeting with the father. And you can guess who that was. Mr. Tyler Dabo. I remember the Gap shirt I was wearing. I remember he complimented my hand writing. And we planned our first family home evening.
It was to be held at my Grandma's house with our whole group. We played a get to know you game and then when everyone else left for the night he stayed. So did Kathryn of course. I warmed him up some left overs and we just talked.
Not long after that night he invited me to a friends house to watch conference. Hello nerdville! He thought I was such a good mormon girl. He knows now (it only took 10 years) it was all a scandal. ha. During conference he put his hand on my leg. Holy moly. That's where it all begin.

it's beginning to look a lot like Valentines!

Today's idea came from my itty bitty head.
{A sweet alternative even to candy}
My kids love little cuties, so sweet and easy to peel.
All you need are these few supplies:

the lost lamb?

So many of you already know that Tyler posed as Jesus for the painter Del Parson's {The Lost Lamb}. Here is the story from Del's perspective if you want to read it here. It's a little different from Tyler's perspective.
So when I saw this in the grocery store on the National Enquirer, I about DIED! So weird and funny and weird.

Organize me
This Idea is really cool if you are like me and need to get rid of some major clothes in the closet. As you can see Tyler has already started the process.

So hang all your hangers backwards then as you wear and wash things, hang them normal. That way you can see what you wear and what you don't!

I know after a year I will be donating more than 1/2 my clothes!

When my Mom was here over Christmas break she poured some little yogurt snacks on Esther's tray. I was like Mom she can't pick up food yet. My Mom was like of course she can. No Mom really we haven't taught her yet. Then I look up and Esther is picking up the yogurt bites and putting them in her mouth. My mom said told you so (like she even knew). So I guess some things you don't even have to teach them.

I bought this bumbo thing with Alex and seriously hardly ever used it. And with Esther we have loved it. I don't know what the difference is (maybe because now I have the tray) but I likey.

Organize me
So I think my 6 month maternity leave is over. Dang.
I love to organize but it is WORK. There is no way around that. I feel my house is slowly becoming a hoarder's home.
Okay not really but I have toys coming out my butt. So some things need to change.

Pinterest has come into my life in the last 6 months as well. It is still not as addicting to me as I can see it is for some but I have seen a few ideas that I have saved so I can give it a try. And I'm excited. (that excited didn't even get an explanation mark)

Have you seen the LOWES commercials lately. Their slogan is "NEVER STOP IMPROVING"! I love this! You should never stop improving. Whether it be work,  yourself, your marriage or your house. Never stop improving! There are ALWAYS ways to improve every aspect of your life.

Okay enough of the life coaching. So I saw this technique on someone else's blog. Some one I don't know. I thought brilliant!  But I don't believe everything I read so I wanted to give it a try!

So I have tile on my kitchen floor. The grout is nasty. Always nasty. We have had it professionally steamed before but when I saw this I thought maybe I could do it. And when I say I, I mean Tyler.

It worked! Can you see the two lines I did clean verses the two lines I didn't?

And all I used was this:

I let it soak for a few minutes then I wiped off. I didn't have to scrub! At first there doesn't look to be much of a difference but when it dries is when it starts glowing!

Now I realize it will take some time to do this to my whole floor but I think it will be worth it. And that is what Tyler is for.

.happy new year.

Our annual new years
dinner with our neighbors.
{Leatherby's}

.new years eve.

is my Dad's BIRTHDAY!
{This would have been the big FIVE-OH}
So it's our little tradition to write some sweet somethings on balloons and let them go in hopes they will reach him.

There's always drama.
Drew's balloon popped.

Alex let his balloon go.
And then quickly realized what he had done.

So Tyler had to get out his cry face.
Isn't it so cute.
