{OUR STORY on STUDIO 5}

My friend Courtney captured our STORY perfectly for a piece on KSL's Studio 5. I'm so grateful for the experience we've all had and also grateful that people still look forward to feel good stories.

Here's the link just in case you missed it!

The Lumineers gone wild

THE LUMINEERS
 @ THE GREAT SALTAIR
I had been looking forward to this concert for months.

Everything was great and beautiful at first. I even got some great shots of the band checking out the The Great Salt Lake before the show started.

Shortly after the show started all hell broke loose. With high winds and lightening the band did their best to carry on but after about 5 songs they couldn't go on any longer. Such a bummer. They did refund all our tickets so I guess we got a pretty awesome concert for free!

ALEX TURNS FIVE!

{9-9}
I really can't believe my baby boy is 5. Alex has hands down been my hardest child up until about last year. He was not a happy baby. He was super attached to me. He hated people. Seriously hated everyone. He was very fearful. He never smiled. But then over time things changed. He changed.

Thank goodness. Now he is such a happy kid. He get's excited very easily and shows it the most. He has the cutest smile I've ever seen. He's super independent and thrives off doing things himself. He cares for other's feelings. He's the protector of the family.

A couple of years ago if you would have said Alex would be holding a tarantula on his 5th Birthday, I would have said you're crazy!

Our Annual Neighborhood Party just happen to fall on his Bday this year. My friend Joc always puts on a great party for us! Luckily my kids already had practice with meeting crazy creatures at Drew's Bday party in April (that was my favorite party to throw). So this was a breeze for most of us.

When I was teaching Alex how to ride his bike without training wheels, I got desperate. And some how I uttered the promise "if you learn to ride your bike before your Birthday you can get a big boy bike"! I had forgotten that I just promised the child that never forgets. So here you go... his new bigger bike.

Earlier that day Alex was celebrated by his Challenger class.

Alex's well-check with Dr. Lash was the next day. And this just wasn't any normal well check. At this well check Alex was getting prepared for Kindergarten next year with SHOTS! We had talked about this upcoming event for months. Trying to prepare him the best we could. He wanted to be so brave like Drew, who didn't cry one tear. But he did cry, the poor thing. You could tell he was trying so hard not to. So glad that's over with.
