{January 25th}
I could of had my ultrasound at 16 weeks like all my friends but I didn’t want a probably girl or boy. So I decided to wait until 18 weeks, I could hardly wait though. Which is funny because with Alex we didn’t even find out until he entered this world.
I had no definite feelings either way. So many things have been different with this pregnancy but not enough to say for sure. I was my sickest with Olivia for sure.
I was nervous as always when we were called back but more because I just wanted the baby to be healthy.
The tech started looking at the baby and the first view was the back and little bum. She started to measure things. But already I was looking around to see if I could find anything more. Right away I noticed parts were missing. And I told the tech I think there are parts missing. She said to hold on and she’ll go that way.
And there they were the 3 glowing lines. I covered my mouth in disbelief and both Tyler and I were both chocked up. We just could not believe it. We still can’t believe it. I have always said I thought Olivia would be my only Daughter. We feel very lucky. And more important, our baby girl looked healthy.
The first person I had to call of course was my Mom. She too just couldn’t believe it. I also could not wait to tell Olivia. But I had to wait until she got home from school. I went and got a couple dozen pink balloons to fill her room.
When she got home from school she immediately asked is it a girl or boy? And I told her to go up to her room to find out. She knew right away. IT’S A GIRL. Olivia get’s to experience something I never did, a Sister. Exactly what she wanted.
Drew’s pretty excited too. He has something for little baby girls.
